Volunteer with Yolo County SPCA

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Yolo County SPCA.

We are a foster-based organization, which means that we do not have a physical shelter for you to volunteer at. However, there are many ways you can lend a helping hand, such as adoption and outreach events!

Interested in becoming a Yolo County SPCA Volunteer? Fill out our event volunteer waiver to be added to our volunteer email server and stay in the loop about upcoming events:

Apply to Foster Cats or Dogs

Fosters are vital to our ability to rescue animals. If you are interested in fostering cats or dogs, we will need you to complete an application. Upon approval, we will add you to our email server, where you will receive foster "pleas" and can choose who you would like to foster.

In order to be seriously considered as a foster home you must meet the following requirements:
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Have all the adults in your household consent to fostering an animal
  • Reside in a facility that allows animals (with landlord approval and a paid pet deposit, if applicable)
  • Provide or arrange transportation for your foster animal as needed
  • Agree to follow all YCSPCA policies
  • Sign and agree to our foster home contract

We will provide all necessary supplies and cover any cost related to medical expenses while the animal is under our care.
