In October my husband and I adopted a Yorkshire Terrier from your organization. We picked up Bandit from Petco in Davis, California. He is between three and four years' of age and full of wonderful energy. He is so smart, it is just unbelievable. Everywhere we go with him, he is a crowd pleaser, so cute.

At first, we were not so sure how it would go with our cat, because Bandit seemed to want just to chase and actually be quite aggressive toward our sweet, timid Morgan. But it's now been about two months and with training, he is coming around. The biggest breakthrough just came about last night. They actually slept on our bed, both of them! If you had seen what we have been going through for the last two months, the exclamation point would make sense.


Bandit never really responded to that name, so we renamed him immediately to Toby. After three days, he knew his name. At the beginning, he was showing quite a bit of aggression toward other dogs we would walk him by, barking and lunging, but now with a little rehabilitation, he can go right by dogs without barking; he just ignores them.

He's smart as a whip (to use an old saying) and we are so in love with him, you can't imagine. He's learning to sit, lie down, stay with us when walking and he will stay when we drop the lead and walk away from him a few feet. You can just see his little brain working. He's such a little love, with all people!

I will never be able to thank you and God enough for our little lamb. After losing our first Yorkie to cancer last February, I didn't think I would ever be able to have another one. But Toby is filling up our hearts and we are now looking forward to his first Christmas with us.
