Match Emily's Challenge

It's FREE to donate a
bowl of food to the
Animal Food Fund
once every day!

Emily was eight years old during the summer of 2004 when we had the pleasure of meeting her. She came to our adoption clinic one Saturday with $54 to donate “to help the animals.” She had earned all of the money through various jobs such as walking dogs and pet sitting, but was disappointed that she hadn’t achieved her goal of $100.

Emily Update
Emily has continued her efforts and proudly completed her $100 donation each year since we met her. Early April 2008 she reached this year's goal of $100 AGAIN!!. Her hard work and dedication have impressed all of us so much so that one of our members purchased a brick honoring Emily for installation at the Cat Annex, Yolo County Animal Services.

When Emily completed her second $100 donation “to help the animals" her generosity inspired us to initiate the MATCH EMILY CHALLENGE. We are asking you to show your support of Emily and “help the animals” by making a special donation to the Yolo County SPCA. Your donation will assist such animals as:

*Jonathan, a four-month-old kitten found limping around the UC Davis campus. He was rescued and taken to the Vet School Teaching Hospital. After being treated for a serious laceration to his chest, he was placed in one of our foster homes. During his convalescence, it was determined that he had an old fracture to his rear leg. He continues to recover and now has use of this leg and is leaping and climbing. He was recently adopted into his new home!

*A litter of two-week-old puppies left at the shelter after the death of their mother. We placed them in foster homes that bottle fed them around the clock until they were four weeks old. They are still in foster care, now eating on their own, and will be available for adoption in early March.

We thank Emily for her dedication to our organization and thank you for your past and continued support.
