Juniper AKA Rusty
I adopted Juniper (AKA "Rusty") just over 1.5 years ago. He was a
very sweet little boy who was shy of new people. He
loved playing with my other cats and eventually got
all of them to warm up to him. He now plays chase
daily with my 4 yr old, Elsa (which creates a bit of
a ruckus, thankfully we live in a downstairs
apartment!). And he cuddles and wrestles with my 6
year old, Saucony.

Juniper is the most affectionate cat I've ever
had. He purrs the second I touch him. He loves for
me to follow him to any one of his beds, where he'll
lie down and just wait for me to pet him while he
purrs and looks very regal. He daily climbs up onto
my chest and then rolls onto his back (his favorite
sleeping position) while I hold him there like a
little baby. He'll just sleep on me that way. He
likes to sleep under rugs. His nickname is Juni or
June-Bug. Sometimes he's just "Bug in a rug." He's
an absolute joy and has gotten over his fear of new
people, although he is still cautious. He's really
good about staying inside. He'll kinda "stay" at
the door and look outside while I go in and out.
I've taken him out in a little chest carrier (he
sits in this bag that goes around my shoulders and
holds him in a sack at my chest) and he never cries
or complains at all. He's never, ever hissed at
other people and others have commented on his great
disposition.
He
rides well in the car, although he gets car sick
after one hour, pretty much like clockwork. But I
try and bring him to my parents with me, so we do
the drive fairly often (I've learned to w/hold food
the night before we travel, which has helped with
the car sickness).
Juniper chirps whenever he sees a new cat. He
actually chirps a lot when he's saying hello to me
or my other cats. Juniper is also a beautiful cat.
He's tall and long. He's just under 13 pounds right
now, and he looks really lean. He's learning to sit
on command. And he LOVES asparagus.
I've loved my time with him. He's been just a
huge joy.
